Beyond is founded by the exact people we aim to serve. Our founders consist of two healthcare doctors and one real estate and land professional. Furthemore, our partnerships continue to grow with a large group of doctors who have chosen to invest with us. Behind us is a large team of realtors, property managers, accountants, lawyers, and tenants who we intentionally invest in to allow our properties to serve in an abundance of ways. Hi, I’m Mark Smiley, a Charlotte, NC-based Doctor with a 17-year passion for real estate. My journey began with single-family homes, driven by the desire to offer quality housing options and seek tax-efficient income. Transitioning from the complexities of being a landlord for single-family properties, I discovered the transformative power of multifamily investing – a game-changer that not only provided more time with my wife and three children but also offered tax benefits and significant growth. This revelation led to the founding of Beyond Equity Group, where we focus on helping busy doctors passively invest for financial freedom and time with family, all while caring for their community.
Hi, I’m Eric Petty. I bring a unique blend of community-oriented expertise and financial acumen to the team. As a Home Health Doctor of Physical Therapy since 2004, I’ve been blessed with remarkable opportunities, having served in over 30,000 homes. My journey into real estate, shaped by diverse investment experiences and my desire to spend more time with my wife and three children, aligns with my commitment to community development and understanding the challenges families face. My unique approach, combined with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree, positions me as a trusted partner for impactful investment opportunities.
